🌟 Tutorial: How to Create Astonishing Photos with Nano Banana

Step 1 – Choose Your Photo

Pick a photo you want to enhance or edit. It can be:

  • A portrait (selfie, family photo, etc.)
  • A product shot
  • An old photo you want to restore

Step 2 – Decide What You Want

Ask yourself: Do you want to enhance, fix, or transform the photo?

  • Enhance = sharpen, color correct, add details.
  • Fix = remove scratches, fix blur, restore old photos.
  • Transform = change background, lighting, or style (cinematic, fantasy, etc.).

Step 3 – Upload to Nano Banana

Upload your chosen photo into Nano Banana (Gemini image editor).

Step 4 – Write Your Prompt

Use this simple formula:

👉 Subject + Action/Style + Scene/Background + Lighting + Detail

Example: “Portrait of a young man, cinematic studio lighting, black background, sharp focus, photorealistic, vibrant skin tones.”

Step 5 – Apply Mask (Optional)

If you only want to change part of the photo (like the background or clothes), use the mask tool. Paint the area you want to edit, then write your prompt.

Step 6 – Refine in Rounds

Don’t try to get it perfect at once. Run one edit, check results, then add tweaks:

“Make colors softer”

“Sharpen the eyes”

“Change background to cityscape at night”

Step 7 – Save & Final Touch

When you’re happy, export the highest quality version. For print or pro use, you can do extra polishing in Photoshop/Lightroom.

🎨 Cool Prompt Ideas for Your Own Photos

Here’s a sample list you can use on your portraits or old pictures:

Photo Enhancement

“Enhance photo clarity, brighten colors, sharpen facial details, remove noise, photorealistic finish.”

“Restore old photograph, remove scratches, recover faded colors, clean and sharpen image.”

Portrait Glow-Up

“Studio portrait of [person in photo], cinematic golden rim light, 85mm lens look, hyper-realistic skin tones, vivid eyes.”

“Soft natural daylight portrait, pastel tones, dreamy bokeh background, clean and sharp.”

Creative Transformations

“Convert photo into a fantasy artwork, glowing forest background, magical lighting, cinematic detail.”

👉 Tip: Start with a simple enhancement prompt, then get creative with styles once you’re comfortable.

Prompt used:
A hyper-realistic giant statue of [uploaded person] standing in the middle of a roundabout. The statue is under construction, surrounded by scaffolding and many construction workers in helmets and orange vests climbing on it. Realistic city background with cars and motorbikes around the roundabout. Bright blue sky, daytime, photorealistic style.

Prompt:

Hyper-realistic 8K cinematic up-close photo of me performing an avatar bending stance outdoors. A swirling ring of all four elements—earth, air, water, and fire—surrounds me, forming a dragon with claws, whiskers, and dramatic twists. The dragon appears alive, flowing from my hands, captured with natural physics elements: water droplets, splashes, refractions, mist, rocks, dust, pebbles, wind, flames, embers, and sparks.

Prompt:

Use the attached image as the reference for the character. Place this person standing on the rooftop of a tall skyscraper at night, seen from a dramatic aerial perspective looking down at the glowing city lights. The person should be holding a large Philippines flag stretched wide above their shoulders, feet together, as if displaying it proudly. The cityscape should be full of illuminated streets, high-rise buildings, and traffic lights, creating a vibrant night-time urban atmosphere. Ensure the perspective emphasizes the height and the dramatic depth of the city below.

Prompt:

Take an extremely ordinary and unremarkable iPhone selfie, with no clear subject or sense of composition just a quick accidental snapshot. The photo has slight motion blur and uneven lighting from streetlights or indoor lamps, causing mild overexposure in some areas. The angle is awkward and the framing is messy, giving the picture a deliberately mediocre feel, as if it was taken absentmindedly while pulling the phone from a pocket. The main character is the uploaded photo and [name of celebrity] standing next to him, both caught in a casual, imperfect moment. The background shows a lively city at night, with neon lights, traffic, and blurry figures passing by. The overall look is intentionally plain and random, capturing the authentic vibe of a poorly composed, spontaneous iPhone selfie but 8K resolution high cinematic quality.

Prompt

A vibrant urban street photography portrait of a young woman [refer to attached image] standing in the middle of a narrow graffiti-covered alley. She has long black hair, wears large over-ear headphones, and a sleeveless yellow sports jersey with the number 9 on the back. Her arms are covered in colorful tattoos with tribal and floral designs. She is holding a skateboard vertically with one hand, the skateboard deck decorated with bright, vivid flower patterns in red, orange, pink, yellow, and green. The woman looks back over her shoulder toward the camera with a confident and stylish expression. The alley is filled with tall buildings covered in colorful street art and graffiti, wires hanging across the sky, and sunlight shining down, creating strong daylight contrast. The atmosphere is energetic, youthful, and urban, with realistic photography style, sharp focus, and high detail.

Prompt

Cinematic double exposure of a young woman (uploaded image) in profile post apocalyptic cityscape inside her silhouette. The inner scene shows the woman walking through a destroyed, burning urban street.buildings in ruins glowing embers and fire, with a dramatic sunset in the background. Moody lighting, warm tones emotional and introspection mood, high detail, 8k resolution.Ratio 3:4

GREAT TIME TO BE CREATIVE

Seriously—there’s never been a moment in history where tools and tech give us this much freedom. Ten years ago, making a polished visual or cinematic ad meant expensive gear, big crews, and weeks of work. Today? You can sketch a concept in your head, type the right prompt, and watch it come alive in seconds. That’s not cheating—it’s acceleration. What blows my mind is how creativity has shifted from limitation to exploration. You don’t stop because you “can’t draw” or “don’t have the software.” You just ask smarter questions, refine the prompt, and push until the design clicks. AI is like the ultimate creative partner—it won’t judge you, it won’t get tired, and it won’t say your idea is “too weird.” This is the golden era for artists, marketers, and storytellers. Want to upgrade a product photo into a cinematic hero shot? Easy. Need a video ad that hooks attention in three seconds flat? Done. Building tutorials that make your audience go, “Whoa, I can actually do this”? Absolutel...

The Secret Sauce of AI Art: Prompting Done Right

Here’s the thing—AI doesn’t “think” like us. It doesn’t know what you meant, it only knows what you typed. That’s why good prompting is everything. It’s not just words, it’s a blueprint. The right phrase can transform a bland sketch into a jaw-dropping piece of digital art that looks like it belongs in a high-budget campaign. Think of it like giving directions. If you say, “Take me somewhere nice,” you might end up at a bus stop. But if you say, “Take me to the rooftop bar with neon lights, city skyline, and a smoky cocktail in my hand,” now we’re talking. The AI thrives on clarity, detail, and intent. In my workflow, I layer prompts the same way a painter layers brushstrokes—foreground, mood, lighting, texture. The more precise you are, the more cinematic the output. And when you mix that with a bit of image enhancement—color grading, depth tweaks, motion effects—you don’t just get art. You get assets that sell, ads that stop the scroll, and tutorials that actually make sense. S...
